Prosuckers are sycophants whose main fanac revolves around worship of professional writers, editors, artists, actors, etc., placing them above mere fans — the stfnal equivalent of groupies. It is not a complimentary term.

The trufannish attitude is that pros are fellow sf fans who have made a wonderful creative contribution to the sf community.

The term was coined by Priscilla Olson in the 1980s, and it immediately won out over terms like prodie, pro licker and sycofan.

Prosuckers tend to be big on Serious Constructivism.
