The 1961 Philcon (the 20th) was held November 17-18, 1961 in the Hall of Flags at the Penn Sheraton Hotel in Philadelphia. It was chaired by Tom Purdom and over 175 people attended. The convention was unusual in that program items -- a single track of speeches and panels -- were unusually interactive and were separated with hour intermissions for con members to talk and mingle.
See Science Fiction Times V17 #1 for a review by Ed Meskys.
