Baen Books is an American publishing company founded in 1983 by SF publisher and editor Jim Baen.
It is a SF and fantasy publishing house that emphasizes space opera, hard science fiction, military science fiction, and fantasy. It was "Spotlighted Publisher" at Norwescon XXVII and Norwescon XXXVI.
Soon after Baen died on June 28, 2006, he was succeeded as publisher by long-time executive editor Toni Weisskopf.
