(Did you mean a California convention or a UK Convention?)
Funcon, the 1983 Melbourne Eastercon, was a science fiction convention held held April 1–4, 1983, at the Queenslodge Motor Inn on Queens Road in Melbourne, VIC. It featured room parties, panels, films, a masquerade and more. It had about 150 members and was described as "a large relaxacon".
