Evidence[edit]
Louis C. Goldstone III? Where'd the C come from? His draft card says Louis Edwin Goldstone:
Ancestry has a marriage index record for Louis E. Goldstone, age 30, marrying Cynthia J. Howarth, age 28, on March 9, 1951 in San Francisco County.
- The name as is came from ISFDB. There are numerous references to him as Lou Goldstone, Jr. (e.g., Hugo nomination), and it’s common for someone born “III” to “move up” to “Jr.” when his grandfather dies, so that seemed legit. Louis Goldstone III was on the In Memoriam list of L.A.con II.
- The C. might have originally come from the bio in Tightbeam. Clearly, wrong.
- Draft card confirms his father (or some relative) was also Louis Goldstone, so “Jr.” is true. Was there another Louis Goldstone before that?
