Alfred Johannes “Bob” Olsen, Jr., a pro from the LA area, was a frequent contributor to Amazing in the 1920s and ’30s. He was a member of Chicon in 1940.
He holds the distinction of having been Forrest J Ackerman’s first pro contact — Ackerman, aged maybe 10 years, showed up at his door in Beverly Hills to get an autograph. He also got cookies. They became longtime friends.
