Nadis grew up in suburban Chicago and now lives in California. He has a Ph.D. in American studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
He has published two books: Wonder Shows (2005) and The Man From Mars, Ray Palmer's Amazing Pulp Journey (2013).
A past fellow of the Smithsonian and a former visiting professor at Doshisha University in Japan, Nadis admits he enjoys writing about odd topics.
