DeepSouthCon 38 was a convention held May 19-21, 2000 in conjunction with Son of Beachcon on Jekyll Island, GA. Jack McDevitt was GoH, Ron Walotsky was Artist GoH, P. L. Caruthers-Montgomery & Larry Montgomery were the Fan GoHs.

Attendance was 201 and Bill Francis was chairman. Jack Haldeman was Toastmaster and Allen Steele was Special Guest.

The Rebel Award winners were Lynn Harris and T. K. F. Weisskopf and Jack McDevitt won the Phoenix Award. The Rubble Award went a second time to Naomi Fisher, this time "For Single-Handedly Destroying the DSC Banquet."
