Mervyn R. Barrett was a New Zealand SF fan, active in Australia in the 1960s–70s and co-organiser of Wellcon in 1979, the first New Zealand Natcon. He was a member of the National Association for Science Fiction , the Melbourne Science Fiction Club and of ANZAPA.
