Joan Bledig, aka J the V, was a Chicago fan. She was active in Midwest fandom beginning in the 1960s. An avid collector of ERBiana, she has been a director of the Burroughs Bibliophiles and editor of the Burroughs Bulletin.
In 1977, she entered the Masquerade at SunCon with Lou Tabakow as "TAFF and DUFF, two visitors from the planet FIAWOL," which won awards for Best Presentation and Best Alien.
