Hoax perpetrated by Swedish fans Erik Andersson and Ahrvid Engholm with the assistance of mundane Jan Lennart Andersson.
E. Andersson and Engholm informed the concom for the 1981 Regncon in Borås that a Canadian fan named Bob Weber might be attending. In fact, the fan was a friend of E. Andersson's who could speak English with only a little accent. The hoax ran for the duration of the con until Weber/J. L. Andersson outed himself during a speech at closing ceremonies.
Weber's name was a misspelling of actual Canadian fan Bob Webber.
