Sam Martinez, a fan born in Chicago, lived most of his life in Tulsa, OK, and was active in Oklahoma fandom from the 1950s.

He was a longtime member of FAPA, for which he published Sambo under his own name, but he also maintained a hoax identity, William Clyde, who contributed ribald stories and sexy drawings until they ran afoul of the Post Office and got banned.

He created KISMET with Ron Ellik.
