In [[fannish]] terms it's significant for its role in the early days of [[UK]] [[fandom]] as the home of the 22nd (and third British) chapter of the [[Science Fiction League]]. Founded in 1935, its members included [[Maurice K. Hanson]], [[Dennis Jacques]], [[Maurice T. Crowley]] and [[D. R. Smith]]. Their [[clubzine]] was ''[[Novae Terrae]]'', the first British [[fanzine]]. The Nuneaton group broke up in August 1937 leaving Smith as the only remaining fan in the town.
