Stanley Davies was an early Manchester, UK, fan, one of the founding members of the Manchester Interplanetary Society. He was a member of the Science Fiction Association (SFA), joining in October 1937. At the inaugural meeting of the Manchester branch in May 1938 he was appointed librarian.
He died in World War II of injuries received at Dunkirk.
