Ruth Evelyn Kyle entered fandom as Ruth Landis in the mid-1950s. She was a founding member of the Lunarians, and served as the Secretary for NyCon II, the 1956 Worldcon, and also of the Syracuse in '67 Worldcon bid.

In 1957, she attended Loncon, the Worldcon in London, while on her honeymoon with Dave Kyle, flying over on a specially chartered flight, the infamous Plane Trip. She modeled in the “A Galaxy of Fashion Show” at Tricon, the 1966 Worldcon.
