In May, 1993 the membership of VCON's parent corporation (Western Canadian Science Fiction Convention Committee Association) apparently dissolved the corporation which had been severely impacted by the 5-figure loss suffered by VCON 19. It voted to replace VCON with "something new". Subsequent VCONs were organized by the new West Coast Science Fiction Association.
For the next couple of years, there was no convention named VCON, but a series of one-day special events:
Event | Date |
---|---|
The Science of Murder | March 19, 1994 |
The Science of Survival | March 18, 1995 |
Science Fiction Saturday / EVCON | May 27, 1995 |
In 1995, the membership voted to re-start VCON in 1996.
