The UK's oldest regional convention, founded in 1971. It is run each November by the Birmingham Science Fiction Group. It was founded by the University of Aston Science Fiction Group at a time when Eastercon was the only regular convention in the UK, but since Novacon 2 has been run by the Birmingham Science Fiction Group.

Novacon used to present the annual Nova Awards.
