Steve James Scherer is an Illinois fan and glass artist.
He began working with glass in 1969. After completing a degree in microbiology at the University of Illinois, Steve decided to pursue glasswork full time.
Steve is married to fellow fan Fran Marie Scherer. They had two sons, Paul and Mark. They lived in Kentucky between 1994 and 2021, and then returned to his hometown of Decatur, Illinois.
