Burke Incident[edit]
"A long-time panelist," author Stephanie Burke, was removed ineptly mid-panel on Sunday after an apparently spurious complaint that she broke the code of conduct by her talk at the Friday panel, “Diversity Readers and Why You Need Them.” All Fandom was Plunged into War followed by an investigation by BSFS and partial apologies from the chair, Yakira Heistand, and programming head, Lisa Adler-Golden, who had publicly yelled at Burke; for details, see Burke’s statement and various reports at File 770.
