This ERB fanzine began life under the title Operation Burroughs for issue #1 (1952), and changed to The Barsoomian for all succeeding issues. The first 6 issues (1952-1953) were ed-pubbed (edited & published) by Joseph W. Miller. #7 (1954) was published by multi-zine-title publisher James V. Taurasi.
The fanzine then lay dormant until Paul C. Allen of Rochester, NY, published #8 (v2 #1) in 1964, continuing up through #15, the last issue in 1969. Also in 1969, Allen published revised/expanded reprints of issues 1-8, that also included new art and covers from artists such as Dave Cockrum and Harry Habblitz.
