Thomas Ross “Tom” Barber was a Michigan con fan. Beginning in the 1970s, he participated in running many conventions in southeastern Michigan. He was married to Tara Barber.

While at Eastern Michigan University, he was a member of its science fiction club, Waldo and Magic Inc., and one of the founders of its con, ConClave. Barber was the chair of ConClave I in 1976. He co-chaired ConClave II in 1977 and ConClave VIII in 1983. He also chaired ConClave XX in 1995, ConClave XXV in 2000, and Perpetual ConFusion in 1986. He was a member of the Detroit in '85 NASFiC bid committee and the Dorsai Irregulars.

He appeared in the video Faans as a member of Big Fandom.

He died from Covid-19.
