A [[bid]] to bring the [[Worldcon]] to [[Birmingham, UK]] in 1995. It was announced at the [[1989 Eastercon]].  It was reported that the organizers wanted to distance themselves from the ill-will surrounding [[Conspiracy '87]].

It is unclear how this bid relates to the successful [[UK in '95]] [[bid]]. At any rate, while Birmingham was one of the sites considered by [[UK in '95]], the Birmingham [[bid]], as such, did not last until the [[site selection]] vote.
