Windycon XIII was a convention held November 14–16, 1986, at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL. (Windycon moved to its now traditional Veteran's Day weekend.) Guests of Honor: Harry Harrison, Arlin Robins, Donald A. Wollheim, Elsie Wollheim. Toastmaster: Marta Randall. Chair: Debra A. Wright. Attendance was around 1,900.
The first ISFiC Writers Contest was held, and the winner was "Getting Along with Larga," by Richard Chwedyk. The Chicago in '91 Worldcon bid was officially launched.
