Peter Francis Straub is an American fantasy/horror author and poet. His horror fiction has received numerous literary honors such as the Bram Stoker Award, World Fantasy Award, and International Horror Guild Award.

He co-authored Black House and The Talisman, two fantasy-horror novels, with his friend and fellow author Stephen King. An early best-selling novel, Ghost Story was made into a popular movie.

Straub died from complications of a broken hip.
