JoAnn Wood (née Schmidt) was a fan who started the Connecticut Valley SF Society in Hartford, CT, in 1969. She was one of the bidders for 7 in '77 and Hawaii in 1981 and was an early member of NESFA and on the Noreascon 2 committee.
