George H. Wells, a Long Island, NY fan was first active in the 1950s (attending his first Lunacon in 1958, was a member of the N3F, Apanage, SFPA, APA-H and N'APA. He gafiated for a time, returning to fandom in 1972. He was remembered by his friends for his quirky sense of humor and he contributed to a number of fanzines.
