The 64th Worldcon and sixth in L.A., L.A.con IV was held August 23–27, 2006, in the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim Hilton, and Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, CA.
GoHs: Connie Willis (author), James Gurney (artist), Howard DeVore (fan), Frankie Thomas (special). Fan GoH DeVore and Special Guest Thomas (actor in the 1950s television series Tom Corbett, Space Cadet) both died before the convention. Chaired by Christian B. McGuire and sponsored by SCIFI.
It formed from the LA in 2006 bid, defeating KC in 2006 at the 2006 Worldcon Site Selection at Torcon 3 in 2003 and hosted the 2008 Worldcon Site Selection and the 2006 Hugos.
